この度Wa.galleryでは「蒼茫」-見渡すかぎり青々とし広くほの暗い-と題し上前功夫による個展を開催します。
上前の作品を目にした時、深海特有の深い色の美しさ、限りなく宇宙にほど近い空の神秘さ。そんな自然が作り出す美しさに敬意を払うような無駄のない造形美。それらの印象を与える作品は廃棄された工業製品（廃ブラウン管 CRT ガラス）を再利用して作られたものである事に驚きを隠せません。
廃ブラウン管 CRT ガラスは工業製品としての規格と品質をクリアしている為、本来非常に美しい素材です。
上前はそんな廃棄物を作品へと昇華させ制作の過程で生まれ出たガラスの様々な表情は、作家の意思を通り越し、鑑賞者へ蒼茫な印象を想起させます。

Wa.gallery is pleased to present a solo exhibition by Isao Uemae titled “Sobo” - Deep blue as far as the eye can see,wide and faintly dark.
When I saw Uemae's work, I was struck by the beauty of the deep colors unique to the deep sea and the mystery of the sky, which is as close to space as possible.The beauty of form without waste, as if paying homage to the beauty created by such nature.We cannot hide our surprise that the works that give those impressions are made by reusing discarded industrial products (waste cathode ray tube CRT glass).
Waste cathode ray tube CRT glass is inherently a very beautiful material because it meets the standards and quality as an industrial product.
Uemae sublimates such discarded materials into his works, and the various expressions of the glass created in the process of production transcend the artist's intention and evoke a SOUBOU on the viewer.
