俵藤ひでとは、アクリルを主素材に活動する職人・デザイナー・作家。プロダクトからアートピース、伝統文化に関わる作品、さらには店舗什器に至るまで領域を限定せず、立体物のデザイン及び製作を行う。
アクリル職人の二代目として培った確かな技術を基盤に、素材の透明性や光の屈折を活かしたグラデーション表現を追求。層の重なりや磨きの精度によって生まれる繊細な色の移ろいは、硬質な素材にやわらかな奥行きをもたらしている。
アクリルという素材の特性――透過性、反射、質感の変化――を巧みに取り入れ、空間そのものを作品化する構成力が特徴。平面と立体の境界を越える試みや、見る角度や光の当たり方によって印象が変化する作品など、鑑賞体験そのものを重視した制作を行っている。
静謐さと緊張感が同居する作品は、素材の硬質さの中に繊細な感情の揺らぎを内包し、観る者に深い余韻を残す。アクリルの可能性を拡張し続ける作家として注目されている。

Hideto Hyodo is a craftsman, designer, and artist who works primarily with acrylic. From product design and art pieces to works rooted in traditional culture and even custom store fixtures, he operates across disciplines, designing and producing three-dimensional works without limiting his field.
As a second-generation acrylic craftsman, he builds upon a solid technical foundation while pursuing gradation expressions that make full use of the material’s transparency and the refraction of light. The delicate shifts of color created through layered construction and meticulous polishing bring a sense of softness and depth to an otherwise rigid medium.
He skillfully incorporates the inherent qualities of acrylic—transparency, reflection, and subtle changes in surface texture—into his work, demonstrating a compositional approach that transforms space itself into part of the artwork. By challenging the boundaries between two-dimensional and three-dimensional forms, and creating pieces whose impressions shift depending on viewing angle and light, he places strong emphasis on the viewer’s experience.
