本展では、作品が内包する「力」――言葉では語りきれない感情、衝動、記憶の表現――に焦点を当てています。
技法やジャンルの枠を超えて、アーティストたちがその内面を解き放ち、作品に刻んだ瞬間を体感していただく場です。
ニューヨークを拠点に活動した古橋矢須秀は、版画・彫刻・舞台美術など多彩な表現で、国際的に高い評価を得たアーティストです。モダンな構成の中に人間の不安や夢を映し出す作品群は、MoMAをはじめとする世界の美術館に所蔵され、今なお強い存在感を放ちます。
一方、芹野直子は、繊細でありながら確かな強さを持つ麻の繊維を素材に、光と空気を内包した立体表現を追求します。
生命の記憶、触覚的な感情、空間との対話から生まれる作品は、見る者の感覚に静かに、しかし深く浸透していきます。
本展では、この二人の異なるアプローチから放たれる「衝撃」が交差し、ひとつの空間に共鳴します。

This exhibition focuses on the “force” embedded within each work—the expression of emotions, impulses, and memories that cannot be fully conveyed through words. It is a space where audiences can experience the very moments artists release their inner visions, transcending techniques and genres.
Yasuhide Kobashi, who was active in New York, was an internationally acclaimed artist known for his diverse forms of expression, including printmaking, sculpture, and stage design. His works—modern in composition yet reflecting human anxiety and dreams—are housed in major museums around the world, including MoMA, and continue to possess a powerful presence.
Naoko Serino, on the other hand, explores three-dimensional expressions using hemp fiber, a material that is delicate yet inherently strong. Her works, infused with light and air,
emerge from memories of life, tactile emotions, and a dialogue with space. They permeate the viewer’s senses quietly, yet profoundly.
In this exhibition, the “impact” radiating from these two artists’ distinct approaches intersects and resonates within a single space.
